Edited by Professor Howard Stevenson, Associate Editor, who contributes a very thoughtful editorial article. This Issue re-publishes John Harland and Kay Kinder’s seminal article,  “Teachers’ Continuing Professional Development: framing a model of outcomes” as part of the 40th Anniversary celebrations of the journal.

Authors included in the Issue come from Australia, New Zealand, USA, England and Scotland and their topics confirm the international reach of the journal. The themes of the articles include lesson study and collaborative teacher learning; observation; impact and expectations of professional doctorates; school leadership learning programmes; teacher leaders as agents of change; the relationship between professional learning, faith-based schooling and liberatory education; the teaching of Geometry and the professional development of youth workers.

All ipda members will shortly receive their hard copy of 40.4 by post.
