Welcome to IPDA Ireland. If you are involved with professional development in Ireland and are interested in becoming a member please get in touch.

This national association has been established to:

  • support, develop and promote effective professional learning and development practice;
  • stimulate collaborative critical conversations to enhance professional learning and development;
  • provide fora to promote networks of individuals concerned with professional learning and development;
  • gather and disseminate information on all aspects of professional learning and development to our members;
  • monitor, evaluate and inform policy and practice developments related to professional learning and development;
  • liaise with other national and international education and training groups;
  • model and promote trans sectoral and transdisciplinary collaboration on professional learning and development;
  • to promote research opportunities and practices related to teacher professional learning and development.

We encourage all those with an interest in professional learning from across Ireland and beyond to get involved. You can do this by engaging with:

  • Seminars and workshops on a range of topics.
  • Networking fora and events.
  • Support in establishing partnerships and collaborations across professional fields.
  • ‘Twitter chats’ through the IPDA Ireland feed, with summaries and additional follow up and discussion via the IPDA blog.
