Reclaiming professional learning – the ball is in our court….

This page contains recordings for the IPDA England 2025 conference which took place from 10-11 October 2025 in Wolverhampton.

The conference theme was: Reclaiming professional learning – the ball is in our court….

Professional Learning in a wide range of education contexts experienced a variety of challenges since 2010 where performativity and a technicist approach became more favoured.

During this conference, IPDA England explored how we need to reclaim and reimagine professional learning post 2024, to champion agency and bespoke personalisation.

Key themes

  • Grassroots sustainable practitioner researcher methodologies
  • Transformative Professional Learning Practices
  • ‘Done to’ vs ‘done with’
  • Agency in the workplace
  • Professional Identity
  • Developmental professional learning models vs deficit professional learning model
