Pracademia: exploring professional development through creative methods

This online workshop took place on 5 September 2023 with Dr Jill Dickinson and Teri-Lisa Griffiths.

In this interactive session, we outlined the inspiration for our research on pracademics (those with dual practitioner and academic professional experience). We summarised our methodological approach, the key findings, and our next steps.

The audience were invited to explore the creative method that we used for this research and identify an artefact that they believe best represents their own professional identity and/or career transitions, as appropriate, and collectively draw on these artefacts to engage in collaborative discussions designed to explore professional development themes. Attendees were invited to bring along an object/artefact which they feel represents an aspect of your professional identity or development so far.
