IPDA members are warmly invited to attend a session with Professor Gary Beauchamp looking at research impact: what it means and how it could be evidenced. The session will be delivered in hybrid format in partnership with Canterbury Christ Church University.

Professor Gary Beauchamp is Professor of Education in the Cardiff School of Education and Social Policy (CSESP) at Cardiff Metropolitan University where he was Associate Dean (Research) from 2009 to 2020. He is also an Honorary Professor at the School of Education in Durham University. He worked for many years as a primary school teacher, before moving into higher education, where he has led undergraduate and post graduate courses in education, as well as supervising and examining over 40 Doctoral students. He was Chair of British Educational Studies Association (BESA) from 2014-2016 and is currently Chair of the Association for the Study of Primary Education (ASPE). He has published extensively in books and academic journals and has led major funded research projects in the use of technologies in teaching and learning. He has been an elected member of British Educational Research Association (BERA) Council, an Additional Inspector for Estyn, Chair of Governors in two primary schools and has served as external examiner for eleven universities.
