ECR Spotlight Session focuses on Making Theory Work For You

This event took place on Thursday 12th December 2024. IPDA welcomed all doctoral researchers to our very first Spotlight Session.

In the session we talked through all things theoretical! Including:

• What is a ‘theoretical framework’?
• Why is a theoretical framework necessary in a doctoral thesis?
• Choosing an appropriate theory for your study.
• The structure of a Theory Chapter.
• Theory and methodology.
• Working with a theory throughout your thesis (theory as ‘the golden thread’).
• Theory ‘dos and don’ts’.
• Theory Q&A.
